Why life coaching?
Because it is NEEDED... that's why. It's not easy being a teenage girl, especially in todays world of unrealistic expectations of beauty, intense pressure for college admissions and, of course, the age old "girl drama."
As a life coach, my role is to support girls with specific tools and strategies to help increase self-esteem, self awareness, & simply aid in decision making.
I "get it" because my own teenage years were a struggle. Not because I was bullied or didn't have supportive parents, but because I didn't have the tools to understand my own expectations or worth. I learned most things the hard way and faced unintended consequences. Lucky for me, social media was non-existent. However, today's teens must learn to not only live with social media in their lives but develop a healthy relationship with it.
I have been working with teens for over 20 years. I started my career working with the highest at-risk youth in the state of Missouri. It was my role to support these teens with transition into the community after being long term wards of the state. I also have provided direct care and therapeutic services in women’s shelters, drug and alcohol centers, and aided with local agencies on ceasing human trafficking. My services have included one on one counseling, group therapy, workshops and educational speaking.
In 2020, the statistics being reported about the mental health of our youth was indicating our youth were in crisis. The rise in diagnosed anxiety disorders almost doubled from 2019 to 2021. It was time to be part of the solution, so I committed to expert training with Teen Wisdom, Inc™ and committed to reaching the goal of helping empower and inspire 2 million teen girls with the message, "because knowing and honoring yourself is true wisdom."
In my role as a teen coach, girls trust me because I get it. I've been there, done that and survived. Parents trust me because I'm educated with a Master's of Social Work (MSW) degree, as well as, a trained life coach by Teen Wisdom, Inc™, specializing in teen girls.
If you are asking yourself if your daughter would benefit from coaching, let's chat! My 20 minute phone consultation will help both you and I determine if it is a correct fit.

The differences between Coaching and Therapy
Coaching
*Focuses on the present and future.
*Assist in achieving goals in life.
*Encourage immediate action.
*Sounding board when exploring choices.
*Seek to empower and self-discovery.
*Partner relationship
Therapy
*Focuses on issues of the past.
*Explores deep emotional trauma that can uncover
why someone behaves a certain way.
*Explores other issues such as Major Depression, Drug Dependency, OCD, Suicidal Ideation
*Seek to remove pain.
*Provider/Patient relationship.
Society is evolving, which means our practices need to be evolving too. Today's youth often stigmatize traditional therapy. The perception can be, "Something’s wrong with me" or "I need to be fixed."
No! Nothing is wrong with you. No! You don't need to be fixed. Sometimes, we just need to shift.
Coaching encourages shifting your thoughts. Shifting your thoughts helps to identify areas to focus. Focusing promotes goal setting. Goal setting is fundamental to growth.
How to begin Coaching
2. Schedule an intake session - a 90 minute session with parents to discuss deeper about what you would like to achieve through coaching.
3. Choose a coaching package - 6 and 10 week coaching packages are available. To attain the desired results, it is recommended the teen have availability for 3 to 6 months.

*Week 2: Meet and Greet - Expectations of the program & areas of focus
*Week 3: Moving Along - Using our resources and opening the "toolkit"
